Keeping your carpet clean definitely isn’t the most exciting job but it’s necessary if you want your home to stay in a good condition. Having the right carpet cleaning supplies available at all times is important because it means you’ll be prepared should there be a spillage or some other accident. This article will talk about some of the carpet cleaning supplies that you should have on hand as well as some things to consider when choosing them.

One of the most versatile and simple types of carpet cleaning supply that you can buy is baking soda. Many people use baking soda for a quick clean of their carpet as it’s cheap and easy to use. All you need to do is vacuum the area of carpet that you want to clean, put some baking soda on it and leave it for a few hours. When you vacuum up the baking soda the carpet will have had a basic clean.

Ammonia is also commonly used on household carpets because it’s very good at getting rid of stains. Every carpet becomes stained at one point or another and having some ammonia and hot water available can make them easy to remove. You’ll also need to buy a spray bottle to distribute the ammonia over the area that’s been stained. Vinegar is also used to remove stains although you should be careful when using it.

Basic items such as rubber gloves, a vacuum and broom are also important for keeping your carpet clean. While they aren’t strictly carpet cleaning supplies they still are essential if you want your carpet to look good for a long time to come.

Remember, you don’t always have to buy expensive carpet cleaning supplies as there are often much cheaper cleaning supplies available. If you have a particularly difficult stain to remove from your carpet then you may need a professional carpet cleaning supplies but otherwise things such as baking soda can do the job just as well.

An important thing to keep in mind is that you may have more specific requirements for your carpet cleaning. For example, if you have a dog then the carpet is likely to get muddy during the winter months. If you have a new puppy then you may need stronger cleaning supplies to deal with any house training accidents. Think about which type of stains and marks you’re likely to deal with so that you can be prepared when the time comes.
